Can I board the train with a baby stroller?

Certainly.

You can board the Light Rail with an unfolded or folded baby stroller. The baby stroller is included in the price of the train trip and is exempt from additional payment.

Can I board the train with an animal?

Traveling with an animal on the Light Rail will only be possible if it can be placed on its owner’s lap or held in its owner’s hands, according to the Railroad Regulations, 5772-2012 Article 18a.

Please Note!

  • Dogs must be muzzled and leashed.
  • Other animals must be in a box or basket in a way that prevents them from injuring or harassing the other train passengers.
  • A blind person’s guide dog as well as a dog in training wearing a “GUIDE DOG IN TRAINING” vest may board the train when they are leashed.
Can I board the train with a scooter or bicycle?

Boarding the Light Rail with a scooter or bicycle is only allowed when they are folded.

According to the instructions of the National Public Transport Authority, Article 6.5, entering the train with a bicycle or scooter throughout all operating hours is only allowed when they are folded. It is forbidden to enter with a bicycle or scooter that cannot be folded or such that have been fitted with ancillary facilities such as a storage box or a chair.

 

Please Note! It is strictly forbidden to ride a bicycle or scooter in the station area and inside the train.

I missed the train; how will I know when the next train will arrive?

Electronic information displays are placed at the train stations that provide real-time updates on the arrival time of the Light Rail. Useful electronic information is also available in the train cars and it appears in three languages.

Can I purchase a travel ticket while on the train?

 

It is not possible to purchase a travel ticket inside Dankal cars.

How long is the Red Line?

The line is 24 km long, of which 12 km are in an underground tunnel, from the Elifelet portal in Neve Tzedek, Tel Aviv to the Shenkar portal in Petah Tikva, near the Geha interchange, with a split in the direction of Kiryat Arye to Em HaMoshavot station. The line has 34 stations, ten of which are underground and 24 at street level. The distance between the street-level stations is about 500 meters, and the distance between the underground stations is about one kilometer..
